FISHING REPORT FOR MAY 17TH 2012

WALLEYE.
The first five days of walleye fishing have been very
productive for most anglers on Mille Lacs. Daytime
fishing on the North end sand has been good between 20
and up to 26 feet. Most people are using lindy
rigs and leeches but a shiner is just as effective if
not more so. There has also been some good reports
of deep water lead core trolling and mud flat fishing.
You don't have to limit yourself to the North end only,
there has been plenty of good daytime fishing on the
breaklines in Garrison Bay, look for fish in 18-20
feet.
Night Bite:
The night bite is strong around the rock reefs, in
Garrison and Myr Mar. Many anglers are
concentrating on 10-12 feet with a leech and a bobber.
You can also fish breaklines around Brown's point and
get the same results.
PANfISH AND CRAPPIE.
The crappies
have picked up on Miller, Camp, Bay and Round And all
surrounding smaller lakes. The deeper water is
producing well. Northland 1"1/2 Slurpies small fry,
Cubbie mini mites and Gapen crappie Vixens used with a
small Panfish leeche and Crappie minnows have been
working very well.
